Embarking on a certification program or upskilling courses can be both exhilarating and challenging. I had the privilege of being part of the GrowthX Club, a community for Internet company founders, leaders and operators to solve growth problems, scale their businesses and accelerate their careers. My experience at GrowthX was transformative like never before, filled with product, user and market insights, connections, and hands-on learning opportunities that significantly impacted my though process and the way to look at growth problems. In this blog, I will share my detailed review of the GrowthX Club, from the application process to the immersive learning experiences and the outcomes of enrolling in the program.
What is the GrowthX Club?
GrowthX is an invite-only community designed for ambitious founders and growth leaders, providing a structured learning environment, curated community, and impactful outcomes. Members, including over 3,000 leaders from top internet companies, benefit from specialized programs in product building, marketing, strategy, and leadership. GrowthX emphasizes applying learned frameworks through live sessions, capstone projects, and continuous skill development, aiming to transform growth trajectories and achieve significant business milestones.
GrowthX Club Review
Why did I join?
I had been following GrowthX for three years, initially discovering it while searching for Product Management and Product Strategy programs. The content GrowthX publishes is outstanding, with great UX designs that are truly next level. Seeing seasoned product professionals and founders who have completed this program further piqued my interest. Having done a few strategy programs in the past, I wanted to enhance my skillset specifically for internet company products, which led me to choose GrowthX. I have also attended the GrowthX Demo Days in the past and after the DD19, made a decision to enroll.
What is GrowthX Demo Day?
Demo Day at GrowthX is an event where learners forms as teams during the Capstone phase, from which the top 2 team, present present revenue strategies to solve a real company growth problem. Strategies would be like converting free users to paid customers, increasing ARPU through cross-selling and up-selling, designing low CAC distribution channels, retaining profitable customers etc. This event will be streamed online/offline and will be joined by 1000+ founders, CXOs, marketers, product builders, and startup operators. A great opportunity to learn actionable strategies for revenue growth.
My Journey at GrowthX Club
Application: The initial screening process begins here. You can apply via their community page.
The eligibility requirements are that participants should either be working in product / internet companies or founders of earlystage startups. This program is ideal for those in product management, marketing, engineering, design, analytics, strategy or founders' office who aim to solve growth challenges in digital products.
Jamming Session: Candidates who pass the initial screening are invited to a Jamming session with other applicants. In my breakout room of around 8 people, we were given a case study: Orange Health's growth had stagnated at 500 crore revenue. As a member of the growth team, how will you solve this. We researched independently for 8 minutes first on identifying the problem, then collaborated to brainstorm. The next half we had to come up with experiments to increase growth, working individually first and then as a group. Based on our performance, successful participants were invited to apply for membership and complete the enrollment fee payment.

GrowthX Fees
Once you get accepted, you will pay membership fees to become a member. The current membership fee is ₹63,550 + Taxes. Every single access inside GrowthX is unlocked as part of this membership. There is much more to GrowthX than the Immersion (4 weeks) and the Capstone (3.5 weeks).
Immersion
The GrowthX Immersion program is a comprehensive 4-week course designed to equip participants with deep insights and practical skills in product growth. Each week focuses on a critical aspect of growth, supplemented by master classes and individual projects that must be submitted weekly.
Week 1 - Acquisition: This week covers strategies and techniques to attract and acquire new users effectively.
Week 2 - Onboarding: Focuses on creating seamless onboarding experiences that retain new users and increase engagement from the start.
Week 3 - Engagement & Retention: Explores methods to keep users engaged and reduce churn, ensuring long-term retention.
Week 4 - Monetization: Covers various monetization strategies to maximize revenue from the existing user base.
Throughout the program, participants engage in live sessions, case studies, and self-paced concept videos, concluding with a capstone project that involves building and pitching a tech product growth strategy.
Individual Projects during the GrowthX Immersion program are graded, and participants must achieve Level 1 in two projects and Level 2 in one project to qualify for the capstone project (L1 being the highest and L4 lowest). There are opportunities for resubmission to improve project grades and meet the necessary criteria for advancing to the capstone stage.
GrowthX Capstone project
This is the cornerstone of GrowthX experience, spanning three weeks where participants apply their knowledge to real-world growth challenges. Teams are formed with diverse backgrounds, including founders, marketers, and product managers, fostering a collaborative environment. Participants in the Capstone had the flexibility to choose between B2B (business-to-business) or B2C (business-to-consumer) projects, tailoring their learning experience to their specific interests and career goals.
Throughout the Capstone, participants engage in weekly brainstorming and problem-solving sessions with mentors and GrowthX founders. Each project is rigorously evaluated, and personalized feedback is provided to ensure continuous improvement. The best solutions are showcased during Demo Day, where top teams pitch their strategies to an audience of industry experts.
My Team and the 3.5 Week Capstone Journey
I had the opportunity to be part of the Taga 1mg Team, working alongside talented peers, including IIT/IIM graduates, founders, growth managers, and engineers. Collaborating with such brilliant minds on a real-world problem was an incredible experience that isn't typically accessible unless you're at a top company.
Problem Statement give to us: Scale annual revenue of Tata 1mg from ₹1,627 Cr to ₹3,254 Cr in one year while controlling losses.
The capstone project is demanding and requires a significant time commitment, making it unsuitable for everyone. An opt-in form was provided to ensure participants understood the commitment and made a conscious decision to proceed. Due to some constraints, I participated for only a week before withdrawing, along with another team member. The remaining members persevered until week three.
Week 1 focused on user insights through conversations with real users, with our team making over 100 user calls and conducting extensive market research. Our group of nine members divided into smaller teams of 2-3 to handle different tasks. We held daily stand-up calls and had mentor sessions almost every other day. Some calls extended into the early morning hours, lasting until 3:00 or 4:00 AM for a few team members. Our team had three mentors: one was a previous GrowthX member, and the other two were community members in marketing leadership roles. The mentors were deeply involved, even reviewing our work late at night at 11:00 or 12:00 AM. The energy and dedication were extraordinary, and the learning experience was profound. It's a reminder that behind the success of many startups are great minds working tirelessly and investing significant effort.
In the subsequent days and weeks, we focused on identifying Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs), developing our growth model, and creating experiments and growth levers. We had weekend soundboarding calls, refined and beautified documents, engaged in discussions with mentors, and continually redesigned our strategy. We even had the opportunity to speak with one of the founders of Tata 1mg to gain a more contextual understanding and validate our strategic approach. Although we didn't make it to the top five teams, the experience was invaluable and truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I plan to rejoin the program in a year just for the capstone experience—it's worth it. Here’s a LinkedIn post from one of our team members, along with a picture from one of our late-night calls, which took place around midnight.
PC: Shreya.
Words of Caution
Time Commitment: The program demands a significant time investment, which can be challenging if you're married or have kids. To get the complete ROI from the program, it's essential to block out dedicated time. Simply participating won't suffice; you need to dive deep to truly benefit from the course. Without this commitment, it may be difficult to do justice to your team.
Session Timing: The sessions are held at night, which can overlap with office hours if you're working from the US. Most core working hours fall during these times, and if you're outside India, you'll need to adjust to these calls' timings.
Feedback: Weekly assignments are corrected with feedback, but I found the feedback to be generic and not particularly helpful for improving the project.
Support and Communication: For any queries or administrative clarifications, the first point of contact is Jervis, an AI bot. I found it unhelpful and often couldn't get the answers I needed. Unlike other programs I've participated in, there wasn't a single point of contact for a category, and we were told to ask questions in the public Slack channel.
Is GrowthX membership worth it?
Yes. 100%
I have gained far more than I ever anticipated from this experience. Having participated in multiple programs, I can confidently say that this is one of the most enriching learning journeys I've undertaken. The Immersion and Capstone projects are just the beginning; there is so much more to explore and benefit from.
